When I first had the thought of moving to North Carolina, I instantly visualized myself in the Nicholas Sparks books (minus all the sad moments) and even the week before I moved out here, I sat down and watched alllll of the Nicholas Sparks movies and got soooo excited because there is something to say about the cute little towns in all of his books/movies and I thought how different it was going to be than my Southern California life. When I found out that Ashley and Lyn were getting married in New Bern, NC (where Nicholas Sparks lives), I had a jump for joy at the idea of being able to go back there and visit the quaint little town of New Bern and go shopping in the cute boutiques, and eat ice cream from the yummy ice cream shop downtown and go to dinner on the water overlooking the bay (and yes I definitely did all of that while in town for their wedding). Ashley and Lyn were the very first wedding at their venue, The Wedding Barn, and although some parts of the venue were still not complete, it made for a beautiful backdrop for their vows. Ashley and Lyn both got ready at the Abilena Plantation House and oh my mercy was it beautiful!!! If I had to live in one house for the rest of my life, I would not mind living in this plantation house which is right on the water and just gorgeous!!! Ashley and Lyn have been together for seven and a half years and it was such an honor to capture their wedding as they said their I-do’s and vowed to be with one another for forever!!
