Casey and John booked me back in January of 2015 and I have anxiously been awaiting their wedding and it finally happened over Memorial Day Weekend at Haywood Hall in Downtown Raleigh, NC. Casey and John were my third wedding for that weekend and although the first two weddings were hot and sunny, the weather called for thunderstorms allllll day for their wedding and I was super bummed for them!! I arrived first at The White Room which is an amazzzzing little bridal suite in downtown Raleigh and was able to capture some fun pictures of Casey and her girls getting ready. While I was there, I kept looking at the forecast and it showed only 15% chance of rain for the next 3 hours and I went over and told Casey that and her face lit up with pure joy and she said “Maybe we will be able to have the ceremony in front of the house after all!” You see, that is alllll Casey wanted..she just wanted John to see her for the first time in front of that gorgeous house and you know what?! IT HAPPENED!! The rain held off for the entire ceremony and not even five minutes after their first kiss as husband and wife, the bottom fell out and it downpoured! Now I am not talking a little rain, I am talking sooo much rain that you would get soaked within 5 seconds of standing in the rain without an umbrella and the sky turned black! So we all moved inside for some family pictures and right when we finished family pictures, the rain stopped as well and we were able to walk around downtown to get some couple portraits of Casey and John! Once their reception started, so did the rain again and it continued for most of the night but the party did not stop! It did not stop even when the venue started flooding and it did not stop Casey from dancing in her white dress that soon turned black at the bottom! Casey and John..you two are some of the sweetest and I am sooo happy that you choose me to capture the day and I wish you guys nothing but the best!!!!
