When I first moved to North Carolina, one of my dreams was to do a shoot at a lighthouse and this past summer (only after 5 years of living here) it FINALLY happened and my photographer heart was oh so happy!! When I first met with Devin and Austin, they told me that they were wanting to do their engagement pictures in the OBX because that is where they had spent so much time with one another and it meant so much to them! I told them that I was going to Rodanthe in the summer for a family vacation and we were able to work it out perfectly and do their engagement pictures while I was there except the only downfall is that we might have picked the windiest day EVER! We started their engagement session at The Bodie Island Lighthouse and then headed over to Jockey’s Ridge State Park which had rolling sand dunes that I was completely obsessed with..only problem being that since it was sooo windy, the sand felt like little pellets hitting our legs and hurt sooo bad!! Devin is a photographer herself which always puts a little bit of extra pressure on me but Devin and Austin were such troopers and never complained about the wind (or the pain) and rocked it out and I loved how their pictures ended up looking! I am beyond excited for their wedding this Spring and cannot wait to get the two of them in front of my camera again!!!
