This JC Raulston Arboretum engagement session makes my heart so happy, especially since it’s with this sweet couple!

I first met with Erin and Bailey when I was 38 weeks pregnant and loved hearing about how the two of them met! They both grew up competitively swimming in Cary and Raleigh. They originally met when they were on the same swim team when they were just 12 years old!

After that year, Erin ended up leaving the team but Bailey continued. They did not talk again until college where they both attended East Carolina University! Bailey was on the varsity swim team and Erin was on the club swim team. Bailey decided to step down from the varsity team after he injured his knee and wanted to return to swimming, but on the club swim team!

Erin was the President of the team and Bailey reached out to her asking if he could join the team with a very formal email, not knowing if she remembered him. Erin let Bailey know he could join the team in the spring! Come January, they both began practicing in the same lane and talking during practice.

Very quickly, they found themselves hanging out outside and practice and swim meets on the weekends to UVA and USC. Erin and Bailey became very close after those travel weekends and had their first date back in Raleigh over their spring break. That ended up being the start of their relationship and the rest is history!

Erin and Bailey are getting married early next year (on the same weekend as my anniversary!!) and I cannot wait to capture their wedding! Enjoy their beautiful JC Raulston Arboretum engagement session!
