Oh how I have been looking forward to this day since the moment Katie told me that there was a guy she was seeing! Katie was one of my photography interns back in 2018 and I remember sitting down at weddings with her during dinner and her talking about this guy that she recently started seeing and I could instantly see the sparkle in her eye! Fast forward to the first time I met him and I instantly knew that their love was the forever kind of love! Then when I got the text that Katie was engaged, I was ecstatic and then super honored when she asked me to be the photographer for her wedding! Katie and Jared had it all planned, a beautiful wedding down in Charleston in May and I was soo pumped to photograph it because not only do I love Katie and Jared, but I also love photographing anything in Charleston! Well enter March and the Corona Virus and I remember Katie texting me and saying how she was freaking out for her May wedding and that she did not know what to do and I ensured her that everything would be blown over by May..boy was I wrong! Katie and Jared made the tough decision to postpone their wedding to October at a different venue and then started planning that new day until I got another text from Katie saying that the other venue just canceled on her and all of their 2020 brides and poor Katie was back at ground 0! But then Katie found Walnut Hill on the outskirts of Raleigh, NC and picked a date that I was available and everything seemed like it was going to finally happen…and it did!!! Katie and Jared got married on a beautiful but HOT sunny, October day and I could not have asked for a more perfect day for Katie and Jared! From Katie’s details, to the little love note Jared surprised Katie with on the bottom of her shoe, to the first look with her dad and then Jared seeing Katie for the first time..everything was SOO magical and also emotional and I loved it and was sooo honored to be the photographer for it all! After their exit, Katie and Jared made a lap and then did one last dance under some twinkle lights to their song and it was the most perfect way to end the night although Katie kept saying that she did not want the day to end and I do not blame her one bit! Katie and Jared..words cannot describe how honored and happy I was to capture your special wedding day and I cannot wait to continue watching your love blossom and watch you guys grow together!!
